The BASQUENERGY Cluster's Wind Energy Sector Forum took place on 10 July. The meeting was held in Tabakalera (Donosti) and was attended by 47 participants from 34 different entities.
The first part of the meeting focused on different views of the complex international situation facing the sector. The Sector Forum coordinator Jon Lezamiz, from Siemens Gamesa, began with the keys to the new European legislation: Net Zero Industry Act & Clean Industrial Deal. Gunnar Herzig, from Wood Mackenzie Consulting, also gave an analysis of the impact of US tariff policy on the wind energy sector, describing the main legislative and tariff changes in Europe and the United States, respectively.
The meeting was followed by a round table discussion entitled ‘Supply chain strategy in a complex international environment’ with several companies from the sector, from large companies such as Siemens Gamesa and Ingeteam to small and medium-sized companies such as HINE and KIMUA. The speakers had the opportunity to share their respective experiences in this field.
During the second part, continuing this theme, the main conclusions of the most recent internationalisation activities coordinated by BASQUENERGY Cluster were reviewed.
The meeting ended with a block of pitch presentations by Cluster members. Aitor García presented the company Equipamientos Eólicos and David Encinas presented Geinsa. In addition, there was also a presentation of the progress of two R&D projects. Carlos Garrido from Saitec, as project coordinator, presented Hazitek FLOWIND and Aitor Urresti from Ikerlan told the latest advances of the Elkartek MEEVCE II project.
The meeting included a coffee break and time for networking and ended with space for B2B meetings.
